YAM spread design developments, using potato print initials and garment photographs.

Brief Information: 'Potato = Typography' With this scarce information, I researched a profound issue within the current fashion industry; the lack of sustainable materials used by brands, both in the garments produced and in the graphic design methods used for the promotion of fashion brands. I therefore created YAM, a biodegradable fashion zine created using paper made from potatoes, enveloped in a plastic-like sleeve made from potato starch. In collaboration with R Sustainable Fashion Show, YAM promotes the work of environmentally friendly fashion designers, as well as showing the creative possibilities of sustainable graphic design methods when marketing fashion brands. On each spread, the designer's initial is engraved onto the surface of a potato in the font Didot, used in leading fashion magazines, and printed onto black ink before being scanned and inserted into the titles.
